Beret’s Light

Beret’s Light Scholarship (due Friday, May 12, 2017)

We are excited to kick-off the first annual Beret’s Light scholarship. Beret’s Light believes that every person regardless of their circumstances or abilities has the potential to “Be the Light” and we look forward to seeing all of the applications!

Beret’s Light, Inc. is awarding a $500 scholarship to a senior Marshall High School student. This scholarship was established to honor the memory of Beret Rysdahl, a 2006 Marshall High School graduate who died from breast cancer in 2015. One of Beret’s goals in her final years of life was to ‘be the light, every day’.

In an essay of 500 words or less, please discuss this philosophy and what you perceive it to mean for your life.

The scholarship may be used at a college, university, or vocational school. Along with the essay, students must include a transcript of their high school grades.
